Education Secretary Arne Duncan must be doing something right. The National Education Association (aka national teachers union), which traditionally has wielded influence over the education department during Democratic administrations, is demanding Duncan's resignation.

"Tax runaways" -- companies that shift legal addresses overseas to reduce taxes -- continue to get lucrative government contracts, despite efforts by Congress to prevent it. A Bloomberg News investigation found that more than a dozen large U.S. companies are collecting more than $1 billion a year from the government, because of "loopholes and a cooperative Obama administration."

Is a Mitt Romney second run for the White House in the cards for 2016? Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, said in a TV interview, "I think he actually is going to run for president. He probably doesn't want me to say that."
