Gina McCarthy has her marching orders. She's the EPA  Chief Administrator and she told The Hill newspaper she's on a mission to finalize the first-ever carbon dioxide regulations on power plants before President Obama leaves office. In the face of this major initiative, the U.S. coal industry is fighting for survival.

In light of the cloud of scandal hovering over former secretary of state Hillary Clinton's private email account, tongues are wagging in the nation's capital over Scott Gration, who was forced out as ambassador to Nairobi in 2012, partially because he was using private email for official business.
