Here's a way to save taxpayers nearly $60 billion over 10 years. The savings would come from a bipartisan bill to phase out the government-sponsored enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The legislation, co-authored by Sens. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., and Mark Warner, D-Va., has cleared the Senate Banking Committee but has been stalled by Democrats in the Senate.

Some alarming figures may be found in the latest Labor Department employment report. Only 142,000  jobs were added during August.  A total of  92,269,000 Americans 16 and older were not participating in the labor force. While unemployment nationwide is 6.1 percent, the rate for black Americans is 11.4 percent - more than double the rate for white people. The number of foreign-born individuals holding jobs in the U.S. hit a high of 24,639,000.

Don't take everything you see on TV news as being factual. On MSNBC , Luke Russert commenting on the effort to form a coalition of countries to fight the Islamic State terrorists, wrongly identified Turkey as "an Arab country." Turkey is an Eurasian country, the Washington Free Beacon points out. Its people are Turks, not Arabs.
